Restaurants in Roppongi for Muslim

What do you do when you are hungry? You’ll look for food, right? But when the desired food is not there for some reasons, you’ll find alternatives. Anything will do, as long as your stomach is fed. Well, in some cases its ingredients and our budget constrain. That was basically what happened while we were starving in Roppongi.

To be honest, we came up with this post by accident. It’s all thanks to a restaurant that was closed during our visit. We looked for other alternatives, and  found out that there are quite a few of Halal food along this Tokyo’s high-class area .

Filming Location: Saigo no Yakusoku – Hill of Promise

Back in 2010, Arashi stared together in Fuji TV ‘s drama SP titled “Saigo no Yakusoku”. Of course we had to visit their filming location for the “hill of promise” scene. The real one actually called Yuuhi no Oka (hill of sunset) which is located in Sakuragaoka Park, Tama, Tokyo. It’s pretty tricky to go to this location. After getting lost several times (as usual), here we are sharing the easiest way to get there.

Filming Location: Boulangerie Sudo

Tourists may not be familiar with the name of this place. We also didn’t know anything about it until we saw one of Himitsu no Arashi-chan episodes (TBS, aired 2011.04.28). Nino and Leader took the guest, Horikita Maki, to one bread shop in Setagaya.

For the sake of variety show, they had a quiz where they guessed the price of the served breads. Nino won the first question so he was able to eat the first bread, one of the most popular ones. And his reaction upon eating it has led us to this bread shop.

Filming Location: Yume no Ohashi

To be honest, we found this filming location by chance. We just left Mizuno Hiroba Park and heading to Fuji TV when I realized the bridge we crossed on looks familiar. Then it hit me, this must be filming location for Anna-san no Omame when Riri and Kyutaro switched their body. And boy I was right! The scene was memorable and I love that particular episode so much. FYI, I’m fan of Becky. She is entertainment genius! The fact that she is fans of SMAP adds billion extra points.

This particular stair appear on Yamada Taro Monogatari (starring: Arashi’s Ninomiya and Sakurai), My Boss My Hero (starring: TOKIO’s Nagase, ex-KATTUN’s Tanaka, and NEWS’s Tegoshi), and Nobuta wo Produce (starring: Yamashita Tomohisa, KATTUN’s Kamenashi, Hey!Say!JUMP’s Nakajima). Even though only for a few seconds, but the stair was memorable. In fact, it dubbed as Tokyo’s stairway to Heaven.  Continue reading

Filming Location: Ending Scene of Shinigami-kun Dorama

Yeah! Starting this month, we have special posts about filming locations. Didn’t we tell you that we are very dedicated Arashi’s fangirls? We tried our best to search, find, visit, and reenact the scenes of Arashi’s doramas/movies/shows. In addition to our 5-rainbow-colored boys, we also have our ultimate bias, Ikuta Toma, and other JE units/talents and Japanese idols. We are bringing them here for you!

Wait, for those who are not Japanese idols’ fans, you can still enjoy our posts because the places are surprisingly interesting! They are not popular among tourists, so limited info and reviews are available there. By reading our posts, we hope you find useful information about those hidden gems in Japan 😉

Let’s start with a dorama called Shinigami-kun. If you’re an Arashi’s fan or a J-dorama freak, you must be familiar with it. TV Asahi aired it on April-June last year. Among the 9 episodes it has, we found that the last one captured the most memorable scene. Yes, the ending scene! (don’t worry, this is not a spoiler)

Halal Restaurant: Genji Restaurant Hilton Hotel Osaka

Sumpah belagu banget! Tapi dasar emang kami kere, harga untuk lunch course per orang-nya selalu dibanding-bandingin sama biaya pengeluaran kami yang lain. Makanya postingan ini bakal panjang, hahahaha (ga mau rugi).

It’s all began from our curiosity to taste Kobe Beef. We tried to find any restaurant that serve halal Kobe Beef in Osaka but there were none. So we decided to taste the real Wagyu instead. The restaurant we found to serve it is Genji Restaurant at Hilton Hotel Osaka. Even though we fly with LCC airlines, but we eat at a high class restaurant. LOL. This post gonna be long coz we already paid so much for the meal, hahahaha.

Nagoya Mosque

Being muslims simply does not hinder us to travel around the world. We admit that, sometimes, there is a worry on how and where we could perform our prayers. But nowadays, information regarding mosques or islamic communities is now available in most of tourist-destination countries, including Japan. This info was then used to prepare our trip.

We had a whole day in Nagoya, it was thus a must to pay a visit to one of its mosques. In Nagoya alone, there are at least 2 mosques listed on the internet. The one that we went to is about 20-minute away from Nagoya Station.
