Back in 2010, Arashi stared together in Fuji TV ‘s drama SP titled “Saigo no Yakusoku”. Of course we had to visit their filming location for the “hill of promise” scene. The real one actually called Yuuhi no Oka (hill of sunset) which is located in Sakuragaoka Park, Tama, Tokyo. It’s pretty tricky to go to this location. After getting lost several times (as usual), here we are sharing the easiest way to get there.
We started our journey from Shinjuku station (KO-01) to Seiseki-Sakuragaoka station (KO-27) by taking the Keio Line toward Keio-Hachiouji station or Takaosanguchi station. You should be careful as there are 6 types of train running on this route. Please make sure you board on the correct train and take the rapid one (indicated with red or orange line) to make things less complicated.
Once you arrived at Seiseki-sakuragaoka station, then walk into the nearby bus stop and take bus “sakura 06” (桜06) toward Nagayama station. Please take off at Kinenkan-mae (記念館前) bus stop (approx. 6 stops). Then soon you will see an entry to a park, BUT don’t walk into it because the hill is located on different area. Instead, take the small path on the right.

you can find this map at the entry of the park. take a moment to locate where you are. click the picture to enlarge
After walk for awhile, you will find a wooden pathway, which mean you’re in the right direction. Walk a bit more then you’ll finally see an entry.
Climb the small hill, there you will see a familiar gazebo…..
…. then of course the Yuuhi no Oka stone!
We took a moment to reenact some of the scene 😉
Despite its name, you actually can’t see the sunset as this place facing to the east. You have to go to different part of the park to watch sunset. Anyway, the scenery seen from Yuuhi no Oka is absolutely stunning! It must be prettier at night when you can see the city light. When we arrived there, there was a lovely old lady enjoying the scenery. We had a little chat with her. She really surprised how we’re able to find this place. Well…. with the Arashi power we guess? Hahaha.
We hope this guide clear enough for you to visit the location easily.

Sebagai fans Arashi, kayaknya ga mungkin kalau belum nonton “Saigo no Yakusoku”. Kalau dalam dorama-nya sih nama tempatnya “Yakusoku no Oka” (hill of promise) tapi nama sebenarnya adalah “Yuuhi no oka” (hill of sunset) yang terletak di taman Sakuragaoka, Tama city, Tokyo.
Begitu nyampe stasiun Seiseki-Sakuragaoka, jalanlah menuju halte terdekat untuk naik bis “sakura 06” (桜06) menuju stasiun Nagayama.
