Oh my, KIX Airport is on of the best airports in Japan, especially for muslims. In addition to the prayer room, it also has Halal certified restaurants. This time, we tried THE U-don.

As you can see, this restaurant serves sanuki udon, the type of udon that has square shape and flat edges. If you’re not familiar with Japanese food, no need to worry. This restaurant displays the menu and how to order it in 4 languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.

We ordered regular udon with soup (¥550) plus tempura (¥160). For those who need rice, they also have onigiri and inari sushi for ¥150 each. No need to order drink if you’re ok with free-flow hot/cold ocha.

Being a halal certified restaurant, THE U-don does not serves pork at all. Beef, chicken, and seasonings also confirmed the halal standard. They may serves alcohol beverages, but disposable cups are used to prevent cross-contamination.

Another reason we chose THE U-don over other halal restaurants at KIX Airport is because it opens at 7:00 in the morning, while the others start their business at around 9:00. Remember that we stayed overnight at this airport? We also need to catch the train as early as possible to reach Osaka. Thus, having breakfast in THE U-don was a perfect choice.

Find this place at the 2nd floor of Terminal 1 KIX Airport. You may also explore other halal restaurants at KIX. Just look for this muslim visitor flyer or download it here for your reference.

Beneran deh, KIX Airport itu salah satu bandara terbaik di Jepang, terutama buat para muslim. Ga cuma punya tempat sholat, bandara ini juga menyediakan beberapa tempat makan bersertifikat halal. Kali ini kami mencoba THE U-don.

Kami memesan regular udon with soup (¥550) plus tempura (¥160).

Temukan THE U-don di lantai 2 Terminal 1 KIX Airport.
